Dr. Puneet Bhuwania, Consultant Nephrologist & Transplant Physician, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road said, “Chronic Kidney disease is a disorder in which the kidneys are damaged and are not functioning normally for more than 3 months. In children, CKD can be caused by congenital defects, urinary tract infections, and hereditary illnesses, whereas diabetes and high blood pressure are major causes in adults. Children’s CKD symptoms may not become apparent until the disease has gone to severe stages. Early detection and treatment can assist in reversing and preventing additional kidney damage.”
Dr. Bhuwania further said, “The surgery was a success and was kept under observation in a state of the art transplant ICU and under the watchful eyes of trained staff where he was able to recover completely.”
“For the last 2-3 years I was suffering from kidney problems. I had to undergo dialysis and the thought of getting a donor seemed far. But, the doctors at Wockhardt Hospitals assured me to not lose hope and finally I got a suitable donor. I thank the doctor for helping me to move freely again” concluded Patient Aloysius.
