Dr Dileep Deodhar, a well known family physician of Pune has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award of IMA’s Maharashtra chapter. This is the highest award to a member doing meritorious service in the field of medical service as a professional, social work and the work in IMA.
Dr Deodhar has been practising for the last 49 years and is the chief trustee of Sutika Seva Mandir, a charitable trust which works for underprivileged women for Ante Natal, Natal,Post Natal Care, at the most minimal hospital charges. An MBBS and FCGP, he has been at the forefront to provide medical service to the poorest of the poor in the city.
With the aim to offer access to healthcare, Dr Deodhar has been practicing in the areas of Indiranagar, Bibwewadi, Parvati Slum and Sadashiv Peth.
Dr. Dileep Deodhar was honorary state secretary of IMA Maharashtra State for 7 years. He was also the president and honourary secretary of IMA, Pune branch. He writes regularly for the Marathi magazine since the early 90s and has published around 4,000 health related articles. He has also authored 12 books on the preventive health and geriatric problems.
