A free medical camp was organised in Rohtak over the weekend in honour of late Dr SN Chugh, former pro vice chancellor in Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Haryana. The camp was organised by his son Dr Anshul Chugh and daughter Dr Ashima Chugh on Dr SN Chugh’s death anniversary.
Dr SN Chugh MD, MNAMS, FICA, FICP, FIACM, FICN, FISC, FIMSA was a former Senior Professor of Medicine and hundreds of students took guidance from him and studied under him.
He was a dedicated teacher, author and great visionary. Dr SN Chugh was awarded many national and international recognition. He was author of around 10 medical books.
He was founder of antidote for phosphate poisoning. He was awarded with Indra Gandhi excellence award and known as a bonafide legend in medical diagnosis. Dr Chugh dedicated his life in spreading education to undergraduate and post graduate students worldwide through his books.
His wife, Dr Kiran Chugh, also retired as Professor of Biochemistry from PGIMS, Rohtak. “The whole family kept this medical camp on his death anniversary and on ‘Haryana Day’ which is November 1. Many people attended the free camp and took advantage of free services provided to them. It was successful free medical camp. The family hopes to organize many such camps in future,” Dr Kiran Chugh said.
His daughter, Dr Ashima Chugh is MBBS MD (PATHOLOGY), working as a Pathologist in Artemis group of hospitals. “I give whole credit to my parents. especially my father, who motivated me to pursue medicine and work for betterment of society,” Dr Ashima said after the medical camp.
A group of doctors whole heartedly organised this free medical camp for all. Free glucose estimation and free medicines were also distributed during this camp.
His son Dr Anshul Chugh is MDS, PhD in Max Face Prosthetics working in reputed Government institution.
