A recent health report has revealed a worrying trend in India: only 7% of people remain disease-free by the age of 40. The findings come from Apollo Hospitals’ Health of the Nation 2026 report, based on over three million health assessments.
The report shows that health problems are starting much earlier than before. By age 30, only one in four individuals is free from disease, indicating that the decline in health begins in early adulthood.
Lifestyle-related conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure are becoming increasingly common, especially among young adults and working professionals. In fact, two-thirds of young people already have at least one health risk, often without noticeable symptoms.
The study also highlights widespread issues like vitamin deficiencies, poor fitness levels, and hidden conditions such as fatty liver and early heart disease, which may not be detected through routine tests.
Overall, the report stresses the need for early screening, healthier lifestyles, and regular monitoring, as many of these conditions can be prevented or reversed if detected in time.
