Indian cricketers Ishant Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal have ventured into the fast-growing health and wellness segment with the launch of AQUON, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) hydration brand aimed at promoting daily hydration and electrolyte balance. The new venture reflects the increasing trend of sportspersons expanding beyond the playing field into consumer-focused businesses, particularly in the nutrition and wellness space.
Marketed by Delhi-based Kiyas Lab Private Limited, a startup recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), AQUON is manufactured at Sapiens Labs in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The brand will initially sell its products exclusively through its own D2C website, allowing it to build a direct relationship with consumers before exploring wider retail distribution.
AQUON’s flagship offering is an electrolyte drink mix available in easy-to-use sachets. Each serving contains five essential electrolytes—sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride—along with eight essential vitamins, 500 mg of taurine, and just 10 kilocalories. The formulation is designed to support hydration for both active individuals and everyday consumers. Users can mix each sachet with 300 ml, 450 ml, or 600 ml of water depending on their preferred taste and hydration requirements.
The product range is available in four flavours: Strawberry Watermelon, Exotic Blueberry, Lemon Lime, and Tropical Punch. AQUON has been priced at ₹299 for a pack of six sachets, ₹399 for an eight-sachet variety pack, and ₹1,080 for a pack of 24 sachets, positioning it competitively within India’s expanding hydration and sports nutrition market.
Speaking about the launch, Yuzvendra Chahal said the idea of starting a business had been on their minds for a long time, and they decided to enter the market with a product that addresses everyday hydration needs. Ishant Sharma emphasised that the brand is not exclusively targeted at athletes. Instead, he said, AQUON is designed for anyone looking to maintain proper hydration and electrolyte levels in their daily routine. He added that the product contains a limited amount of sugar to provide quick energy while supporting electrolyte absorption.
According to the founders, the goal is to create a product that people can incorporate into their everyday lives rather than limiting it to sports or fitness enthusiasts. They believe the formulation can benefit individuals who experience dehydration, muscle cramps, or low electrolyte levels due to physical activity, travel, or hot weather.
The launch comes as India’s hydration category witnesses rapid growth, driven by rising health awareness and increasing demand for functional beverages. The market now includes oral rehydration solutions, sports drinks, hydration supplements, and wellness products offered by pharmaceutical companies, beverage manufacturers, and digital-first startups. Celebrity-backed ventures have also become increasingly common as public figures leverage their influence to build consumer brands in emerging categories.
With AQUON, Ishant Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal are seeking to establish a presence in this competitive landscape by combining sports credibility with a digital-first business model. By focusing on convenience, functional nutrition, and direct consumer engagement, the brand aims to appeal to a broad audience looking for practical hydration solutions as demand for preventive health and wellness products continues to grow in India.
