Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that every eligible and needy person in Uttar Pradesh receives an Ayushman health card, reinforcing the state’s commitment to accessible and affordable healthcare for all.
During a public grievance redressal programme, commonly known as Janata Darshan, held in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister personally interacted with citizens and listened to their concerns—many of which were related to medical treatment and financial difficulties. Responding to these issues, he emphasized that no individual should be deprived of healthcare due to lack of money.
He instructed officials present at the event to ensure the creation of Ayushman cards for all eligible beneficiaries, so that people can access free treatment without delays or administrative hurdles. The directive highlights the government’s focus on expanding the reach of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which provides health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family annually.
The Chief Minister also reassured citizens that the state government stands firmly with those in need. He told people not to worry about medical expenses and assured them that assistance would be provided either through Ayushman cards or, if necessary, through discretionary government funds. This dual approach aims to ensure that no treatment is delayed due to financial constraints.
Officials were further instructed to act promptly and responsibly in resolving public grievances. The Chief Minister stressed that all complaints should be addressed in a time-bound, fair, and satisfactory manner, especially when they involve serious health conditions. His hands-on review of applications during the event demonstrated a direct governance approach aimed at quick problem-solving.
The push for universal Ayushman card coverage is part of a broader effort to strengthen healthcare access across Uttar Pradesh. In recent months, the state has also undertaken drives to identify and enroll previously unregistered beneficiaries under the scheme, expanding its reach to more vulnerable populations.
Overall, the initiative reflects a clear policy direction: ensuring that every eligible citizen benefits from government-backed health insurance. By prioritizing Ayushman card distribution and improving administrative responsiveness, the state government aims to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses and improve health outcomes, particularly for economically weaker sections.
