The District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) convened a review meeting on Routine Immunization (RI) and the HPV Vaccination Campaign 2026 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises here on Wednesday, to assess vaccination coverage and strengthen outreach efforts across Upper Subansiri district.
Deputy Commissioner Tasso Gambo, who chaired the meeting, stressed the need for close coordination among health authorities, line departments and other stakeholders to ensure that every eligible beneficiary is covered under the immunisation programmes.
DMO (I/C) Dr Tade Rago delivered the welcome address at the outset. Dr Anshul from RRT-WHO subsequently gave a detailed presentation on Routine Immunization and the HPV Vaccination Campaign 2026, outlining key programme priorities and underlining the importance of community involvement and coordination between departments.
The meeting also featured discussions on vaccination coverage, community mobilisation, awareness activities and logistical arrangements required for the effective rollout of the campaign.
Gambo called for stronger awareness initiatives at the grassroots level and greater community mobilisation, particularly to ensure access to eligible beneficiaries living in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
He further underlined the importance of coordinated field-level implementation and regular monitoring to identify shortcomings and undertake corrective action in a timely manner.
The meeting ended with participating officials and stakeholders reiterating their commitment to improving routine immunisation coverage and ensuring the effective implementation of the HPV vaccination campaign throughout the district. (DIPRO)
