Bio-Synergy, a UK-based sports nutrition company, is expanding into precision genetics and personalised health, with plans to bring its DNA + Epigenetics Kit, nutraceuticals and BLAISE AI platform to India. The company aims to help people understand their individual health profiles and make informed choices about nutrition, lifestyle and long-term wellbeing.
The move builds on advances in genetic science and lower testing costs, which have made personalised health assessments more accessible. According to Daniel Herman, Founder and CEO of Bio-Synergy, the shift is a natural extension of the company’s work in sports nutrition and supplements.

“DNA and epigenetics can help people make more informed decisions about their long-term health,” Herman said.
The company sees an opportunity to use these insights to identify potential nutritional deficiencies, guide supplement choices and help people avoid products they may not need. However, building awareness and ensuring access to the technology remain key challenges, particularly in a diverse market such as India.
Dr Katherine Rahill, Chief Scientific Officer at Bio-Synergy, said the company plans to develop its understanding of Indian consumers through data rather than applying a model developed in the UK without adaptation.
India’s genetic diversity, regional dietary differences and varied lifestyles require a careful, evidence-based approach, she explained. Machine learning can help identify patterns in large datasets, but clinical expertise and local knowledge remain essential to interpreting the findings.
Rahill also cautioned against treating genetic or epigenetic tests as definitive measures of health. Such assessments provide a snapshot of a person’s biological condition at a particular time and must be considered alongside lifestyle, medical history and follow-up assessments.
Drawing on her experience in NASA-related human performance research, Rahill highlighted the importance of exercise, nutrition, recovery and environmental factors in maintaining health as people age.She believes personalised health strategies should account for individual biological differences rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach.
For Bio-Synergy, the immediate priority in India is to improve access to personalised health information and educate consumers and healthcare professionals about its practical value. The broader goal is to help people take a more active role in preventive healthcare and support healthier ageing.
The company believes combining genetic insights with lifestyle awareness could offer a more individualised approach to long-term health, while recognising that testing cannot replace medical advice or clinical evaluation.
