Homeopathy Seen as Sustainable Option for Menstrual Health

Homeopathy Seen as Sustainable Option for Menstrual Health

Menstrual health challenges remain widespread in India, with new findings showing that nearly 80% of adolescent girls experience disruptions in daily life due to menstrual issues, while about 30% miss school as a result. These figures highlight a significant public health concern affecting both education and overall well-being.

Amid these challenges, experts are increasingly advocating for holistic and long-term approaches to care. Homeopathy is being highlighted as a potential sustainable solution, particularly for conditions that require ongoing management such as irregular periods, severe cramps, and hormonal disorders like PCOS.

According to health authorities, menstrual health is closely linked to women’s dignity, quality of life, and social participation. There is a growing shift toward preventive and patient-friendly healthcare systems, where treatments are not only effective but also accessible and affordable. In this context, homeopathy is seen as a safe and cost-effective option that focuses on individualized treatment.

Research initiatives led by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) have further strengthened this approach. Large-scale programmes conducted across multiple states and schools have focused on awareness, menstrual hygiene, and treatment support, reaching thousands of adolescent girls. These efforts aim to address both symptoms and underlying hormonal or endocrine imbalances.

Experts also note that many menstrual disorders require prolonged care, leading patients to explore non-invasive and holistic therapies. Homeopathy’s personalised treatment model is believed to help reduce symptom severity, regulate cycles, and improve overall well-being over time.

Overall, the growing emphasis is on sustainable, integrative healthcare solutions that combine awareness, hygiene, and long-term treatment. With menstrual health continuing to impact education and daily life for millions of girls, experts stress the need for accessible, patient-centric approaches that go beyond short-term relief and focus on lasting outcomes.
