Fortis Escorts Faridabad Opens Region’s First Dedicated Fever Clinic
Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad has introduced the region’s first dedicated Fever Clinic to offer specialised assessment, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment for patients experiencing seasonal and infectious fevers.
The clinic was inaugurated on 11 September and will function from Monday to Saturday, between 3 pm and 4 pm. It will be managed by the hospital’s Internal Medicine team. The initiative has been introduced at a time when Delhi-NCR is witnessing an increase in fever-related cases during the monsoon and seasonal transition, with viral and mosquito-borne infections accounting for a significant share of cases.
Comprehensive Fever Care Under One Roof
The new clinic will evaluate patients with a wide range of acute and infectious illnesses. These include seasonal viral infections, dengue, malaria, chikungunya, typhoid, influenza/H1N1, prolonged or unexplained fever and other bacterial infections. Specialised care will also be available for immunocompromised patients experiencing fever.
The facility is designed to bring multiple aspects of fever management together at a single location. Services include dedicated physician consultations, diagnostic investigations such as complete blood counts and rapid tests, pharmacy and medication assistance, day-care and observation facilities, emergency escalation, referrals for hospital admission and planned follow-up care.
Dr Rajesh Kumar Budhiraja, Senior Director, Internal Medicine, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad, said fever may result from several different causes and requires timely medical evaluation, particularly during the monsoon and changing seasons. He said the clinic would offer patients a dedicated setting for symptom assessment and appropriate diagnostic testing, while enabling early detection of warning signs that may require hospital-based treatment.
Dr BN Singh, Director, Internal Medicine, said the initiative is intended to make fever evaluation and treatment more accessible and timely, while supporting early detection of serious infections.
Dr Anurag Aggarwal, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine, highlighted that although many fever cases can be managed with prompt medical guidance, certain patients may need closer monitoring or hospitalisation.
