What is the core idea behind FlyDoc?

The idea behind FlyDoc is to make high end surgical care affordable and accessible. In illness, most people desire quality care form top corporate hospitals in India, however only few can afford such treatments. The FlyDoc team achieves this by working with a team of highly skilled and experienced surgeons who have previously worked with leading corporate hospitals in the country. We are able to provide affordable surgical treatment within the vicinity of the patients home by collaborating with the small nursing homes and hospitals.

How will it benefit the patient community?

For most surgeries, patients along with their families, travel from smaller towns to Delhi or other metro cities. Such patients can request the service of our doctors within their own city. FlyDoc doctors travel to provide surgical services after assessing the feasibility of performing a procedure at a hospital near the patient. This eliminates patients’ travel cost as well as the cost of hotel stay for families; besides the treatment is far more affordable. Families with an annual income of less than INR 3 Lakhs are offered further discounts on treatment within Delhi NCR.

What are your current and future plans?

At present our doctors are able to provide surgical services in Bhopal, Gorakhpur, Patna, Guwahati, Srinagar, Indore, Jalandhar and Udaipur besides Delhi NCR. Although doctors from FlyDoc can provide surgical services in many other cities of India, our capacity is limited by the small pool of surgeons enrolled exclusively from the top hospitals with adequate experience. For the moment we would like to keep it that way without compromising on patients’ safety and our surgical outcomes.

How has the journey been so far? How many patients have been treated till date.

Since inception, the team of doctors have performed more than a hundred major surgical procedures and advised more than 500 patients. The surgeries conducted include total knee replacements as well as surgeries for brain and spine tumours and trauma.

Buoyed by the initial success, FlyDoc has now ventured into tele consultations and video consultations, as well as home consultations by specialist and super specialist doctors within Delhi. We also provide Air ambulance services pan India.
