Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated a newly built 400-bed tower at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital in Saket, marking a major addition to the private healthcare infrastructure in the capital.
The expansion has increased the hospital’s overall capacity to nearly 1,200 beds, making the Saket facility the largest private hospital in Delhi in terms of bed strength, according to Max Healthcare.
The newly added facility is expected to improve the availability of advanced medical treatment for patients from Delhi-NCR as well as those travelling from other parts of the country. The hospital provides tertiary and quaternary healthcare services across more than 22 specialties.
The new tower has been fitted with advanced medical equipment and robotic technologies, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot and the Mako Total Knee Replacement Robot. These technologies are intended to assist in carrying out highly precise and minimally invasive procedures.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the inauguration as the Guest of Honour. Delhi Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Transport and Information Technology Pankaj Kumar Singh, and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri were also present at the event.
Max Healthcare Institute Chairman and Managing Director Abhay Soi said the new facility combines modern infrastructure, advanced technology and specialised Indian clinical expertise to provide high-quality treatment to patients from India and overseas.
The expansion is part of Max Healthcare’s broader effort to increase its healthcare capacity and improve access to specialised medical services. The new tower is expected to strengthen the hospital’s ability to meet the rising demand for advanced healthcare in Delhi-NCR and beyond.With the latest addition, Max Healthcare continues to expand its presence in the region while focusing on technology-driven treatment, specialised care and a more integrated healthcare ecosystem.
