Supreme Court says that Ayush Doctors can’t prescribe & advertise Covid Medicines

Rx – Recipere

“In times of COVID19, nurses are more important than doctors. They are the ones who work in close proximity to patients (at highest risk) and this job cannot be completed on Zoom (online platforms). They deserve the highest respect.”

Dr. Anoop Misra, Chairman, Fortis CDOC Hospital for Diabetes and Allied Sciences, New Delhi

Supreme Court says that Ayush Doctors can’t prescribe & advertise Covid Medicines

Ayush doctors and homeopaths cannot prescribe or advertise medicines for the deadly coronavirus, which has so far affected over 99 lakh people in India, the Supreme Court ruled. Refusing to modify a Kerala High Court order, which had earlier passed a judgement prohibiting such prescriptions, the top court – at the same time – also upheld an advisory by the centre on Ayush doctors prescribing immunity boosters for Covid.

22,065 daily new Covid cases recorded after 161 days; national recovery rate crosses 95%

India has achieved several significant milestones in its fight against COVID. The new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours have fallen under 22,100. The daily new cases stand at 22,065 after 161 days. The national Recovery Rate has further escalated to 95.12%. The total recovered cases have crossed 94 lakhs (94,22,636). The total positive cases of the country are 3,39,820 and now comprise merely 3.43% of the total cases.

Niti Aayog’s unveils vision for India’s Public Health Surveillance by 2035

The Niti Aayog has released a white paper with its vision for what public health surveillance in India can be in 2035. It talks about strengthening the health systems by suggesting mainstreaming of surveillance by making individual electronic health records the basis for surveillance. It envisions a citizen-friendly public health system, which will involve stakeholders at all levels, be it individual, community, health care facilities or laboratories, all while protecting the individual’s privacy and confidentiality.

Neurological problems can be one of the side effects in COVID patients: Study

COVID-19 patients can experience a wide range of complications, including strokes, seizures, movement disorders, and cognitive impairment, according to a new study published in the journal Neurology: Clinical Practice. Even patients with moderate COVID-19 may develop these issues, the study said. It analyzed data from 921 adults who were hospitalized with COVID-19 at Boston Medical Center between April 15 to July 1. Among those, 74 needed a neurology exam. Their average age was 64, and 47 of the patients already had a history of some type of neurologic disease.
