New health plans to benefit ICAI members, students and CA firm professionals

August 26, 2026
Aditya Birla Health Insurance, ICAI partner for CA health cover

Aditya Birla Health Insurance Co. Ltd. (ABHICL) has partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to provide customised health insurance and wellness benefits to Chartered Accountants, CA students and professionals working with CA firms.

The initiative is expected to reach more than 12.32 lakh CA students and 4.67 lakh ICAI members. The company said the partnership is part of its plan to strengthen institutional distribution and make health insurance easier to access for professional communities.

The insurance company has designed its recommended products around customers’ age and health requirements. For people below 35, Activ Yuva has been positioned as a wellness-focused plan aimed at young professionals who are starting their careers and financial planning.

For individuals above 35 who do not have chronic health conditions, ABHICL recommends Activ One Max Unlimited Care with Durable Equipment Rider. Customers with pre-existing diseases can opt for Activ One VYTL, which provides coverage for seven chronic conditions from Day 1, along with hospitalisation cover and an OPD-based Chronic Management Program.

ICAI Denies Reports of New Authority for CA Exams, Calls Claims “Factually Incorrect”

The company has also included options for people who want to shift or port their existing health insurance policies. The recommended plan will depend on the customer’s health profile and requirements.

Speaking about the partnership, Mayank Bathwal, CEO of Aditya Birla Health Insurance Co. Ltd., said the company wants health insurance to play a bigger role than simply paying medical bills.

“At Aditya Birla Health Insurance, we believe health insurance should go beyond financing medical expenses and actively encourage healthier living,” Bathwal said.

He added that the association with ICAI brings together health protection, preventive care and wellness benefits, allowing members and students to take a more active approach towards their health while also preparing for future medical expenses.

The initiative also comes with ABHICL’s wellness programme. Policyholders can earn Active Dayz™ by completing health-related activities, including walking 10,000 steps or burning 300 calories through a single exercise session.

Customers who complete 325 Active Dayz™ in a policy year and maintain a strong Healthy Heart Score™ may be eligible to receive HealthReturns™ of up to 100% of their annual premium, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Other benefits include Super Credit under Activ Yuva, which can increase the sum insured at renewal, and Super Reload under Activ One Max Unlimited Care, which allows the base sum insured to be reinstated during the policy year. Eligible plans also include Claim Protect for admissible non-medical hospitalisation expenses.

Background

The partnership comes as insurers increasingly look beyond traditional health cover and focus on preventive healthcare and wellness. For ABHICL, the ICAI network provides an opportunity to reach a large professional community at different stages of their careers.

Eligible ICAI members and students may receive special discounts or benefits when purchasing policies directly from ABHICL, wherever applicable and subject to filed products, policy terms and regulations.
